If you want to visit Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy and city of art, there’s nothing better than a walk along its typical little streets. Inside the city walls, Beaune unveils its charm:  hôtels particuliers, timber frame architecture, flowed squares and gardens…Beaune is a city to wander!

In order to discover its exceptional heritage, Beaune invites you to visit its must-see monuments and museums: the Notre Dame Basilica, the wine museum…and of course, the Hôtel-dieu (Hospices de Beaune) which witnessed the era during which the power of the Duke of Burgundy spread all the way to Flanders and the Low Countries.

You can’t end your stay without having discovered the treasure Beaune hides below its cobblestone roads! Since the Middle Ages, Beaune has been a centre for wine culture and trade so no doubt it became the hub for international business in the 18th century. Beaune also became the Wine Capital of Burgundy where the best ambassadors are clearly the wine growers and traders who will let you discover their cellars and sample their best crus.

For a total Burgundy immersion, don't miss the sites dedicated to our regional specialties (cassis, mustard, Crémant de Bourgogne sparkling wine…)

The Côte de Beaune spreads across some twenty kilometres between Ladoix-Serrigny and the magnificent Maranges hillside.
This often narrow (just a few hundred metres) and magnificent hillside exposed to the rising sun is home to the greatest dry white wines in the world alongside red wines with a great reputation.
The renowned Côte de Beaune vineyard is closely linked to the capital city, Beaune, a true historical and economic stronghold in winegrowing Burgundy.

Above the Côte de Beaune is a 400 metre high plateau crossed by valleys that create a hilly landscape. They’re the Hautes Côtes de Beaune. Some twenty wine trading platforms have established their vineyards on the best exposed hillsides comprising the appellation Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune.
